Fiona Lamb

Diabetes Nurse Specialist

Fiona is the Lead Diabetes Nurse Specialist in the Service

The archetypal nurse: dedicated, empathetic, professional and ever the patient’s advocated. This is Fiona.  For almost a decade and a half she has been a stalwart in the team delivering the highest standard of patient care whilst driving forward diabetes nursing provision with her kindly, inimitable manner.
Fiona is extremely experience in all aspects of paediatric diabetes and is particularly committed to patient education, adolescent care and insulin pump therapy.  The “Patient Held Record” has been published and circulated as a direct result of Fiona and Dr Craigie winning a Scottish Office award and they are both responsible for its evolution into the splendid teaching resource that it is today.
Fiona represents Yorkhill within the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Managed Clinical Network for Adolescent Transional Care and Insulin Pump Therapy. She is resolute about improving adolescent services and is instrumental in the establishment of Yorkhill as an insulin pump centre.
Despite Fiona working at a strategic level she loves nothing more than working directly with the children with diabetes and their families.
