Ian is a stalwart of the diabetes team; a tireless worker and a determined advocate for children with diabetes, he is the epitome of professionalism. Hailing originally from Australia, Ian has spent the last 10 years at Yorkhill and has been at the heart of many of the developments that have taken place over the period.
Together with Fiona Lamb, he was awarded an award from the Scottish Office to produce a “Patient Held Record” for the children of Glasgow, the second edition of which will be published during 2008. Indeed, education is a key interest of Ian’s and he is currently sitting on a short-life working party for the Scottish Diabetes Group, looking at the educational programmes and materials used across the country.
In his spare time, Ian enjoys a variety of extreme sports. At least, he would if he had any spare time.
